Get moving and eat well for Christmas!

buddha-symbols-3 Quote for the day: “Those who understand their own faults are wise. Those who are unaware of their own faults and look for faults in others are fools”.
Buddhist quote.

G’day friends!

I hope you are all well and happy…that’s what we should strive for everyday! It’s certainly worth it don’t you think?

get-moving-girls The wonderful thing is, we all have the potential to be happy and avoid suffering. In order to achieve this we must acknowledge, think and act in ways to cultivate our own inner happiness. Yes, rather deep for first thing Monday isn’t it? Sorry!

Now for something a little lighter…can you believe it’s almost December? Another year of our life is coming to a close. How would you evaluate 2009?

get-moving-for-xmas-2 Today I thought I would try and motivate you to step up your activity levels and get moving in the four weeks leading up to Christmas (perhaps a good reason to prepare for the Xmas indulgences that many of us succumb to during the festive season).
All of my clients have made a commitment to increase their exercise in December…well done to you all!
deciding-what-to-eat Over the next few weeks I would encourage you to think about what you are eating and drinking. Ask yourself: Do I really need this? Is this the best type of food or is there a better option? Is the portion size adequate for my activity level? What nutritional value is it giving me?
Yes, all those questions that many fail to ask ourselves when it comes to what we put in our mouth…mmm, now that’s food for thought isn’t it?

So, what about some social exercise for you? Below are a few great events taking place in Melbourne in the next few weeks. Why don’t you sign up and take part, perhaps ask a friend(s) or family to join you. It will be rewarding, fun and a catalyst for continued exercise and motivation in 2010.

Go on…don’t think about, don’t make excuses…just do it for better health and fitness!

If you can’t take part in any of these events make it a priority to utilise your weekends and exercise continuously for a minimum of an hour each day. If you can’t do that and want some extra help then give me a call…I can help you!
Don’t forget to take a look at your diet also. As I always say, “eat clean and you will become lean” (Remember rainbow food - wholesome colourful foods as close to their natural state as possible).

mona Finally, this week Steve Monegehetti (a hero of mine) launched the world’s first Solar Eclipse Marathon, to be held in Port Douglas, Queensland in 2012.
The festival will include a 42.195km marathon and half marathon, and the race is timed to start as the first rays of the sun emerge from behind the moon.
The event is expected to attract 2000 competitors and 3000 visitors to the region.

How fun does that sound? I haven’t run a marathon yet just a good half, (it is a personal goal for the future). However, it might be a little closer in the future than I imagined. Yes, it will be, I have just decided today that 2012 will be my marathon debut!! Yep, this sounds perfect…can’t wait!
Let me know if you would like to join me in 2012? Perhaps we can put together a 2012 Solar Marathon Eclipse Team.

Chezzy? I’m finding the ’simple’ concepts and things in life are so much easier to grasp, understand and be grateful for when you live in a constant state of calm, happiness and enlightenment. So often we are fighting our head, our heart and many things that are external to us. I’m so eager to learn more about the Buddhist way of living. Thank you for sharing some Buddhist words of wisdom recently - I’m loving them.

What Christmas indulgences may you be referring to? ;) I’ve made a 110% commitment to my physical, mental and emotional preparation for Mera 2010 and while I grant the need for rest days, I don’t see the need to unravel my good work that I have done over the past couple of months for the sake of a day on the calendar. It’ll be lean baked turkey breast, salad and fruit salad for me. That’s my commitment.

Count me in on the Solar Eclipse Marathon 2012. When can we enter? That sure sounds like a special event in which to partake in your marathon debut. I’d love to be in a team - that’d be fun.

Oh YAY - I can’t wait to meet Nick and the rest of Team Mera. I’m so, so excited!!!!

    Love
    Jules xo
