Quote for the day: “People with goals succeed because they know where they are going. It’s as simple as that.” Earl Nightingale

Happy and healthy New Year 2012 friends,

Yes, the time has arrived when many people set new year resolutions…have you?

The fact is, the vast majority of these resolutions are broken within the first month of the year! Therefore today rather than push the New Year resolution bandwagon I would like to challenge you to consider some personal questions and goals that I believe will be more beneficial than proclaiming a resolution that is often not well planned or thought out.

I believe goal setting is a useful strategy for achieving results in our lives. It gives us direction and purpose and helps eliminate the unnecessary distractions that can slow us down.

Answer these questions with clarity, honesty and commitment and you can achieve far more than declaring a bold 2012 resolution today.

  • What is your primary goal for 2012?
  • When do you want to achieve it by?
  • Why do you want to achieve it?
  • What are your weaknesses that may limit your success?
  • When are you most vulnerable to wander of track?
  • Why do you do this?
  • What support network will you need to achieve this goal?
  • When are you going to start seeking help?
  • Why not start today?

Make sure your goal is worthy to you for the right reasons – something that excites you with the thought of achieving it! Remember, you must want to enjoy the journey of achieving your goal. The process is just as important!

If you are committed, concise and consistent there is no reason why you cannot achieve the goals you set for 2012.

We are responsible for our lives, we choose our attitude, we are in the driving seat…what do you want in 2012?

Answer these questions and go and achieve your goals….I dare you!! : )

As Oscar Wilde famously said….

“To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that is all.”

Happy and healthy 2012 friends, make it the best year you can…live the life you want starting today!

Smiles always 🙂

Cherie
