Adventure is looming!
It’s time to start training for the Himalayas!
I have been guiding trekkers through the mountains for many years now and one thing I guarantee is those who prepare for their trekking expedition with a specifically structured training program have a far more rewarding and pleasurable experience.

If you are going to invest precious time and money into a personal challenge I believe it is imperative to prepare your body and mind for optimal peak performance.

That is why I ensure all my clients have the option of participating in a specific 8 week Pre-Trek Training Program conducted by myself, leading into their exciting trekking adventure. This program involves 8 weeks of focused energy, commitment and enthusiasm that will provide participants with the following invaluable benefits of:

  • Trek specific strength & conditioning training
  • Social interaction & group training with fellow trekkers
  • Coaching & mentoring from myself, their trekking guide & high performance trainer
  • Simulated altitude training for pre-acclimatisation & enhanced fitness
  • Pre-trek planning , education, clothing & equipment support 
  • Psychological training for the trekking challenge
  • Fun, fitness and plenty of laughs

Phase 1 – Strength & Conditioning starts this weekend, Saturday 26th July at Sandringham Beach. 
Phase 2 – Trek Specific training begins a month later when the strength and conditioning is consolidated and clients are ready to tackle the challenging hilly terrain of the Dandenong Ranges. This intense 4 week phase begins on Saturday 23rd August at Glasgow Track, Montrose.

In addition to group outdoor training all my clients have the option of  completing a Simulated Altitude Training (SAT) program. This pre-acclimatisation training program, coached by myself will allow them to make  important physiological adaptations that occur as a result of exposure to a hypoxic (low oxygen) environment before they actual step foot on the mountain! As a result trekkers can effectively improve their tolerance to real altitude and minimise the effects of altitude sickness. The outcome of this means clients will have an even more enjoyable and successful trekking adventure. The psychological benefits of altitude training also provide an invaluable advantage for trekkers who have never been to a high altitude environment.
