G’day friends!

I hope you’re having a happy and healthy week? 🙂

It’s getting very close now….only 3 days remaining before my team of 9 enthusiastic trekkers fly out of Melbourne on Friday night….destination Kathmandu, Nepal.

Erica, Jess, Susan, Craig, Danny, Glenn, Patrick, Peter, Neil and myself are extremely excited. My team have trained so hard, prepared well and ready to go! 

We are all about to embark on a truly amazing Himalayan adventure….I am going to make sure of that!

Here are a some facts on the amazing country we are soon about to explore:

Facts on Nepal:

Area: 147, 181 sq.km

Location: Situated between China in the north and India in the south, east and west.

Capital: Kathmandu (and largest city)

Population: 26,620,000 

People: Nepal has more than 101  ethnic groups and 92 spoken languages.

Currency: Nepali Rupee (current rate AUD $1 = Rs. 85)

Political system: Federal Democratic Republic

Religion: Nepal is a secular state with a pre-dominance of Hindu and Buddhist population

Climate: Nepal has four major seasons: (1) Winter: December – February, (2) Spring: March – May (current season), (3) Summer: June – August, Autumn: September – November. Monsoons (wet season) are from June till mid September. The only time of the year when trekking is not advisable.

Trekking

Nepal is the ultimate destination for the trekking enthusiast and adventurer…that’s why I see my job as a privilege and pleasure 🙂

Nepal has aptly been called “A trekker’s Paradise” as her terrain – mountains, hills and Terai – offer some of the most spectacular trekking routes in the world. The immense contrasts in altitudes and climates found here support an equally spectacular mix of lifestyles, vegetation and wildlife. Trekking in Nepal is as much a cultural experience as a Himalayan adventure. In the shadows of the foothills of the icy pinnacles of the Himalayas, one passes picturesque charming villages with truly beautiful people – humble, happy and hospitable!
